This policy explains what personal data Farm88 collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What We Collect

• Account data: name, email, nationality, password (hashed with bcrypt — we never see the plain text).
• Visa log: farms you worked at, start/end dates, notes you write.
• Reviews & reports: ratings and comments you submit about farms.
• Location: GPS is used only when you tap "Near Me" to find nearby farms. We do not track your background location.
• Analytics: anonymous events (screen views, taps) via PostHog to improve the App.
• Crash reports: if the App crashes, technical details are sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Data

Only to run the App: authenticate you, display your visa log, show reviews to other users, and improve features. We do not sell your data.

3. Who Can See Your Data

• Public: your first name and nationality appear next to reviews you post.
• Private: email, password, visa log entries, location — nobody sees these except you.
• Service providers: Supabase (database hosting, Australia region), Render (API hosting), Sentry (crashes), PostHog (analytics). They process data under strict agreements and cannot use it for other purposes.

4. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all associated data within 30 days (backups may take longer to purge but are encrypted and not accessed).

5. Your Rights

• Access — see all data we hold about you.
• Correct — update incorrect data from the Profile screen.
• Delete — remove your account in-app (Profile → Delete Account).
• Export — email us to request a copy of your data.

6. Children

Farm88 is not for users under 18. If we learn we collected data from a minor, we delete it immediately.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). Traffic uses HTTPS. Tokens are stored in the device's Keychain (iOS) or EncryptedSharedPreferences (Android). No system is perfect — report suspected breaches to us right away.

8. Changes

We'll notify you in-app about material changes before they take effect.
